Yoon & Yang has hired three Senior Foreign Attorneys to further strengthen the firm’s cross-border capacity. Jason W Lee (US-qualified) is an expert in M&A. During his ten years of experience at Kim & Chang, he advised on international trade and customs matters, in addition to representing multinational companies in a variety of M&A transactions, including outbound and inbound investments and joint ventures. Most notably, Lee advised Allianz on its sale of Allianz Korea to the Anbang Group in 2017, and a consortium led by POSCO on its acquisition of a minority interest in the ArcelorMittal Mines Canada mining business in 2013. Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Lee worked at Schulte Roth & Zabel and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in the US. While working in the US, Lee has advised Google on its acquisition of YouTube in 2006, advised Hellman & Friedman on its acquisition of Getty Images in 2008, and he advised Sport Brands International on its sale of Fila Korea in 2005. Lee received his JD from Harvard Law School in 2000, and his AB from Brown University in 1996. He has been a member of the New York Bar since 2001. On the other hand, Song Feng Hong (China-qualified) is an expert in corporate law, international arbitration and China-related legal matters. During his 15 years at Bae, Kim & Lee, Song represented Korean and Chinese clients across a broad spectrum of international arbitrations, including representing a Korea-based food company in an ICC arbitration in Hong Kong over a dispute involving a Korea-China joint venture based in China. In addition, he advised domestic enterprises and large multinational corporations on their inbound and outbound transactions, including advising Hyundai Motor Company on its joint venture project with a Chinese state-owned company in Sichuan Province. He has also extensively advised Chinese companies on their investments in Korea. Song received his LLB from Peking University in 2000, and has been a member of the China Bar since 2001. Lastly, Sung Jin Ro (US-qualified) has extensive experience in technology-driven industries, notably from his previous positions at Jusung Engineering, Emerson Automation Solutions Korea and, most recently, Versum Materials Korea, a global material manufacturer for the semiconductor and display industries. He worked at Versum Materials Korea from 2016 and, as general counsel, he comprehensively supervised legal affairs, including labor management, post-merger integration and foreign direct investments. Prior to working at Versum Materials Korea, Sung was a senior contract and compliance officer at Emerson Automation Solutions Korea. He was in charge of providing legal advice within the company, reviewing legal contracts, operating the company’s compliance programs, and handling communications between the group’s headquarters and the Korean subsidiary. At Jusung Engineering, a leading semiconductor/photovoltaic manufacturing tool maker based in Korea, Sung headed the legal affairs team and handled labor conflicts, supplier relationships and government affairs regarding new regulations affecting the company. Sung received his JD from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2007, and his BA from Yonsei University in 1997. He has been a member of the New York Bar since 2008.
