Singapore based firm, Colin Ng & Partners has finalised an association with Fame Myanmar Co Ltd, with a view to establishing a presence in the country formerly known as Burma.
The driver behind the association, from Colin Ng’s perspective, is the increasing prominence of Myanmar as an economic up and comer in the region, and the firm through the association, seeks to capitalise on the surge in foreign investment as well as the size and geography of the resource-rich country. According to Lisa Theng, Joint Managing Partner of Colin Ng & Partners, “With reforms gathering pace, some of our clients are increasingly interested in looking to Myanmar to increase their investment portfolios.” Fame’s Managing Director, Soe Thien, commented that “with the opening up of the Myanmar maket, it would be a matter of time before our clients looked beyond national borders for new business opportunities.” Colin Ng & Partners is the latest firm to form an association with a Myanmar based offering, and others include Stephenson Harwood, Rouse, Duane Morris’ Asian partner, Selvam as well as Singapore firm Rajah & Tann. |
