| July witnessed the launch of two schemes aiming to have a profound impact on Tanzania’s energy sector. Following U.S. President Barack Obama’s visit to the country at the beginning of the month as part of the launch of the USD 7 billion Power Africa initiative that will benefit Tanzania and seven other sub-Saharan African countries, Tanzania’s Ministry of Energy Minerals (MEM) launched its own vision under the Government’s “Big Results Now!” initiative.
