Indonesian law firm Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo has joined KMPG’s global legal network as the professional services firm expands its presence across the region.
KPMG Global Legal Services opened an office in Hong Kong in January through the addition of SF Lawyers to its network and is planning to add Shanghai later this year.
The network grew by 30 percent in 2018, according to KPMG Asia-Pacific chairman Honson To, and has “significant growth ambitions just beginning to be realised across the Asia Pacific region”.
Adding Lubis Ganie to this network gives KPMG access to the largest and oldest law firm in Indonesia, with more than 100 lawyers.
“All of us at LGS are excited that effective as of May 1, 2019 we have entered into an alliance that links our firm to KPMG in Indonesia and the global KPMG network,” said Mohamed Idwan Ganie, managing partner of Lubis Ganie.
The Jakarta-headquartered firm previously had an alliance with Clyde & Co.
