A select group of around 50 senior in-house counsel gathered at the Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai on December 6 for our final In-House Community gathering of the year.
The Congress was opened by Cyril Shroff, Managing Partner of Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas who addressed the changing role of in-house counsel and their increasing importance in shaping corporate India.
The ensuing panel discussion, moderated by In-House Community director, Patrick Dransfield: ‘In-House Lawyering: uncovering the relationship between Quality, Cost & Value – and how external counsel can help’ took the conversation forward with Damini Marwah, general counsel and head – law, Axis Bank; Debolina Partap, vice president legal and general counsel, Wockhardt; Jai S. Pathak, Partner, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher; Gautam Bhattacharyya, partner, Reed Smith; and Cyril Shroff himself.
There followed a programme of networking, workshops and panels, including:

• Practical and Topical Issues in Dispute Resolution, presented by Reed Smith
• The Role of the Regulator in Corporate India – A panel discussion moderated by Cyril Shroff, with Anand Sinha, senior consultant (financial services), Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas; Ashok Chawla, strategic advisory board member, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas; PK Bagga, senior consultant, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas

The day concluded convivially with our In-House Community Drinks.
