Outbound Risk & Compliance Symposium, Singapore 2016
25 February 2016 – Review
Part of our series of more intimate risk and compliance symposiums, the In-House Community hosted 97 attendees in Singapore at the Marina Mandarin Singapore, by Meritus on February 25, 2016.

After brief welcome remarks from In-House Community co-director Patrick Dransfield, Kroll representatives discussed ‘The Importance of Information in Mitigating Transaction Risks: Looking at Investment and Transactions in Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines and the Region’s other Emerging Markets’.

This was followed by Simmons & Simmons’ session ‘Conducting Cross-Border Investigations: Best Practice in Detection, Management and Response’ and then ‘A Year in Review and Outlook for 2016 – Latest Legal and Tax Developments in the Mekong Region and the Special Focus on Other Emerging Markets in Bangladesh and the Philippines’, a session hosted by DFDL.

To end the day, delegates were invited to play ‘The Game of Counter-party Risk: practical steps to ensure your institution can prevail in a crisis’: an interactive workshop during which players are given hypothetical scenarios and prizes are given for the best solution to fictitious crises.

As well as our co-hosts, we would also like to thank speakers Ron Yu, General Counsel, Gilkron Limited and Jude Ocampo, Partner, Ocampo & Suralvo Law Offices for their involvement in the success of this symposium.

“The Symposium exceeded my expectations … very practical with genuine content of interest”
